As spring break approaches, many of us are gearing up for travels across state lines. While it's a time for relaxation and adventure, it's also essential to know your rights as you journey between states. Whether you're flying, driving, or taking a train or bus, here are five rights you should be aware of:

1. Freedom of Movement: The United States Constitution guarantees your right to travel freely between states. This means you can move from one state to another without undue interference from the government.

2. Equal Protection: The 14th Amendment ensures that you are entitled to equal protection under the law, regardless of which state you are in. This means that you should not face discrimination based on your race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics while traveling.

3. Freedom from Unreasonable Searches and Seizures: The 4th Amendment protects you from unreasonable searches and seizures by law enforcement. This means that authorities cannot search you, your belongings, or your vehicle without a warrant or probable cause, even when you're traveling between states.

4. Right to Remain Silent: The 5th Amendment gives you the right to remain silent and not incriminate yourself. If you are stopped by law enforcement while traveling, you are not required to answer questions beyond providing basic identification.

5. Right to Due Process: The 5th and 14th Amendments guarantee your right to due process of law. This means that if you are accused of a crime while traveling, you are entitled to a fair and impartial trial.

As you embark on your spring break adventures, remember to stay informed about your rights and exercise them responsibly. Safe travels!
